About Helena

Psychotherapist

BA (Counselling & Psychotherapy)

MSc (Mindfulness-based Interventions)

BComm

I practise as a Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist.  I offer psychotherapy that is person-centred, which means deeply felt respect for each client’s experience and understanding of themselves and their own life.  Each one of us is unique.  My approach is holistic (mind & body) and psychodynamic (includes our unconscious and formative childhood experiences).

My training included the following theory and approaches, which inform my practice:
Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Existential, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Trauma and Body, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems, Life-Span, Loss and Bereavement, and Psychosynthesis.

As a therapist, I bring 17 years of working in business organisations, 25 years of teaching and practicing yoga and meditation, as well as the experience of raising a family.

Ethical, research-informed practice is a core value for me.  I completed an MSc in mindfulness-based psychological interventions in UCD, a BA degree in counselling and psychotherapy and a bachelor of commerce degree in UCD. I am registered with IACP (pre-accredited) and MTAI.  My approach is gentle, practical and supportive.
